In place of a traditional Open Evening, this year we will be offering families of students in Year 5 and 6 (socially distanced) personalised tours of the school with our senior teachers.
Tours will take place between 9am and 11am every week day until October 30, 2020. They are by appointment only. To sign up for a tour fill in the contact form below or contact Grace at email@example.com.
Students who attend Hackney New School have access to life-changing opportunities unrivalled at other schools, not just in Hackney but also in the entire country.
Our scholarship programme supports our brightest students in applying for fully funded places at the very best independent schools. In our first year we have already helped one student win a place at the highly prestigious Highgate School on a £44,000 scholarship.
Our partner schools in the Community Schools Trust have helped four students win places at Eton College, previously attended by Boris Johnson, Prince William and Prince Harry, in the last five years.
Headteacher Charlotte Whelan is the former Headteacher of Forest Gate Community School, rated Outstanding twice and ranked in the top 50 in the country for GCSE results five years in a row.
In December last year, Ofsted came into HNS to monitor our progress. I had been Headteacher for three months yet the inspectors found the school had been, in their words “transformed”. They have now deemed our school to be a calm place to learn, work and study where students behave respectfully in a positive culture.
Hackney New School has an achievement-orientated culture where all students are expected to work hard to achieve aspirational outcomes. An unrivalled scholarship programme where students secure fully funded places at top independent schools, including Eton.
